My Medical Man

We're just about 2 months into medical school so i thought I'd update what has happend so far. Rob is attending Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, Washington. This is Rob and his friend Travis all ready for thier first day of school!! Rob and Travis car pool together. Travis' wife, Ashley, and I are good friends and Grant and their son, Russell, like to play (sometimes :))!!

My billboard Man!! Rob even is on a billboard for the medical school. Obviously he must be one of their best and brightest. He is the one on the front left and the billboard is near the school.
To prove himself, Rob even passed his first set of exams.

This is my white coat man!! We attended his white coat ceremony last weekend!

This is Rob really really excited about his new "toys" that he recieved. He calls them his ophthalmascope, stethascope, and otoscope, but I refer to them as toys. He really likes to wake me up in the morning by shoving the light in my ear to take a look and comment how much ear wax I have, or by listening to my hear beat with his stethascope. I just tell him my heart thumps "rob, rob, rob, etc." I guess I should have figured thats what I get for marrying a medical man!

Grant really enjoyed the cake they served at the reception after the White Coat Ceremony.

We had a great time with my parents as they visited from Tennessee to see Grant ( I mean Rob's white coat ceremony..haha)

Kathryn's got a new job!!

That's right folks. I'm once again employed in the teaching world. However, it's even better because i do all my work right here at home from my computer. I'm basically going to be a faciliator for k-12 students who are home schooled and are taking their classes online. Pretty sweet! Iget paid like a teacher (sort of..it's complicated) and I don't even have to leave my house, but most importantly I don't have to leave Grant!! The company is called Achieve Online. Talk about a blessing so that we don't have to be in SO much debt for Rob's schooling!!!! Check out the website at http://www.achieveonline.org/ if your interested!!

Tennessee Trip!!!

Before we moved to Washington...Rob and I took a trip to visit my family in Tennessee!! Here are some of my favorite memories from our trip! My most favorite memory, however, was going to the Nashville Temple with my family!!!

Jonesborough!!!

We went to visit my brother David and his Wife Heidi in Johnson City. We decided to go show Rob one of the oldest town in Tennessee-Jonesborough! I actually attended Governor's school here when I was in High School, so it was very fun to show Rob this fun and very charming old town!!

Cousins!!!

We enjoyed seeing all of the cousins together!! They loved the slip and slide!!

Reminiscing
!!!

At my parents' house, Rob just couldn't resist re-living my childhood by wearing my McDonald's gear. (I had a pretend McDonald's drive-thru set) Luckily, Grant and Kaitlyn (my niece) were jealous enough that he had to give it up!! Medical School was just too tempting!

Growing up!!

Grant learned that he LOVES juice boxes, bubbles, and of course snow cones and grahams' and papa's!!!

(as for bubbles, I highly reccomend the no spill bubbles. The bubbles come in a container that does not allow the liquid to come out! It's ingenious for self entertainment. You can get them at target or toys-r-us!)

A quick trip to Louisville, KY!

We made a quick trip to visit Rob's sister, Amy and her family in Louisville, KY. Grant and Ashley (another niece) had never met before, so we had to make sure they became friends!!

Nashville Temple!!!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of my family in front of the temple, let's just say I was a little too teary eyed! My parent, siblings, and I (along with spouses) were able to go the temple before we left for Washington. My dad is a sealer so we were able to do sealings as a family! It was such a special part of my summer to be in the temple with my family!!

Summer '08

We left our memories in Utah and moved to Yakima, Wa in June for Rob to attend Medical School. We found plenty of work to be done when we got here...so the following pictures pretty much sums it up!!!

We worked hard!!!

But we tried to play hard!!

Triathlon Training

I have been training for a triathlon since the beginning of the new year! For those who don't know it is a race where you swim, bike, and run. No worries, I don't look as sexy as the racers in the photos! I have been wanting to do one for years now, but never really pursued it. I decided that there is no better time than right now, since I'm not prego and I only have one child to push in the jogging stroller!
I got online to register for my May 24th race, and it was already sold out! I am so bummed! Luckily there is a triathlon going on in Richland, WA July 5th! If i can't find one sooner, you will see me swimming in the cold Columbia River in July!

Cheers to College Days

Laura with Benjamin (Feb 2008)
Char and Seth (March 2008)
Michelle and Me (April 2008)

So here we are, saying cheers to the girls of Windgate 12 (our apartment/memories for 2 years in college). Michelle, Laura, Charlotte, and I were roomates for most of my college days until I got married. Since then, Laura has gotten married and had a baby and now lives in Texas, Char got married and now lives in Ireland, and Michelle went on a mission to Chile and just graduated from BYU and is going to work in DC . In June, I will be the last to pack up my truckful of memories and say cheers to our college days! Thank goodness we have Julie (our sudo-roommate) to keep us grounded in Utah!
I know the Lord led me to have these amazing friends! It's amazing to look back to where we have been and where we are now! I learned so much from thier examples! I can't wait until our reunions!
